Recent visitors to the site at Apedale will have noticed that the Top Yard (the area immediately behind the station) has rather resembled a war zone. The area was used by the Museum contractors for their storage yard, and has then had some serious excavations carried out to connect the Museum to the various underground services (Northern Line via Charing Cross?). Concious that this area is part of the “shop front” for the site, and also a critical display area for various events, a lot of effort has been expended in trying to sort the area. It’s not perfect, but certainly looking much better.
The main driver for this work has been the forthcoming Drive-It Day event on Sunday 26 April, which is always popular with the classic car fans. We’ll be operating the Avonside “Ogwen” for the first time in 2026 as well. All details are here.
