The volunteers of the Moseley Railway Trust offer you a warm welcome to the Apedale Valley Light Railway!
We operate trains on every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday from Easter until October. Trains operate on dates coloured blue, green or red. No colour = no trains! Details are shown below. Please see the “Events” section for details of events planned for 2026.
All tickets are bought on the day from the station shop. The only exceptions to this are the Santa Specials in December.
Trains run at 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 13:30 and every half hour until 16:00. Operating times may vary on special event days. A round trip typically takes approximately 15 minutes.
For 2026, we are continuing our policy that all tickets allow for all-day travel – as many trips there and back as you like. Although we’ve had to increase our prices for adults, we’re helping families by introducing “Kids for a Quid” – all children (3-15 years) – can travel all day for just £1. Children must, of course, be accompanied by a fare-paying adult. Fares for normal operating days are:
| Day Rover | |
| Adult | £5.00 |
| Child (aged 3-15) | £1.00 |
Children under 3 travel free. Single tickets from Apedale Road station are available (it’s a pleasant walk through the Country Park to reach Apedale Road station).
Courtesy of funding from Newcastle-Under-Lyme Borough Council’s Civic Pride scheme, we are delighted to announce that carers visiting with registered disabled individuals will be able to travel for free during 2026.
Fares may differ on certain special event weekends.
We are pleased to welcome visitors of all abilities, and our train can convey wheelchairs. Our access statement will be found here. Our conditions of carriage will be found here.
Dogs Travel Free, but must be on a lead and travel at their owners risk.
