Saturday April 1st was our first running day of the 2023 season. The Orenstein steam loco was used; it’s had a lot of work done during the closed season to improve its valve gear timing. Pleased to say that the efforts seem to have paid off, with the loco performing well all day. All being well, this loco will be used on our New Member’s Day on April 15th (see here). Why? Well, it happens to have a pair of passenger seats in the tender. Many thanks to Julian Hadrill for the photos.
