Thank you to everyone who came along to today’s Steam Gala at Apedale. The sun shone, the trains ran – we even managed an end-of-day cavalcade down to Apedale Road with all six steam locos. The Orenstein & Koppel steam loco was formally launched into service by sacrificing a bottle of German finest bier.
However, these are not normal times, and in recognition of the impending funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, we remind everyone that the railway will not be open on Sunday 18 September.
