Just a very quick reminder that this coming weekend is our Military Trains event. Performing on the main line will be Hunslet 1215 and Hudswell 1238, which will haul passenger trains and a First World War freight. The last train (1600) of each day will be hauled by one of the “Tin Turtles” – Motor Rails 1320 and 1369.
On the Field Railway, a variety of internal combustion locos will handle a World War Two era demonstration train. We will be welcoming a team of re-enactors who will be manning our replica WW1 trench over the weekend, probably the only people who would welcome rain to create some authentic mud.
The sheds will be open to visitors. All of this happens from 1130 to 4pm each day, and our standard fares apply. Find out more on location etc at www.avlr.org.uk
