Day One of the Military Trains weekend. The mainline was occupied by the First World War, the Field Railway had wound the clock forward to the Second World War and later. There’s no getting away from it – it’s been VERY wet today. Still, the re-enactors liked the authenticity of a bit of mud. We’re doing it all again tomorrow after drying out overnight – trains will run 1130 to 4pm, the sheds are open for visitors, and it’s just £3.50 for adults. Put on that stout mackintosh, pack up your kitbag and come and join the slightly damp fun!
