We are pleased to announce that we are planning to open to the public for the 2021 season on Saturday April 17th. Trains will run from 1130 to 1600 at frequent intervals, and fares have been frozen at 2020 levels.
As in 2020, we will run our “COVID-secure” train service. This means that we only use our open coaches, with dividers between compartments. A maximum of six people can travel in a compartment. The train is sanitised at the end of every trip. We do not require face masks to be worn on the train, but they must be worn when in the Shop.
There is no need to pre-book, just turn up. Initially, the trains will be running on Saturdays only, plus Sundays and Mondays at bank holiday weekends. Check the timetable at www.avlr.org.uk for full details.
Obviously, we may need to modify our plans if the Government changes regulations, but we’re sure that will be well covered elsewhere.
We look forward to seeing you. We’ve all had a tough winter, but the shoots of spring are appearing.
