Description
This book covers the quaint railway 18′ gauge which served the watercress beds at Bere Regis in Dorset. The watercress beds at Bere Regis produced around 3 million bunches of watercress each year from a 15 acre site, and the railway was used to transport the cut cress to the packing shed in boxes carried on flat wagons. Once packed into retail cartons, the cress was despatched around the UK to many supermarkets Includes 31 black and white photographs, several maps, and some drawings and details of the rolling stock.
Published in 2011, this A4 size soft cover booklet has 32 pages including the cover.
