Published in 2025 to mark the 15th anniversary of the AVLR opening, this book charts the first Apedale site developments from 2003, adaption of the former coal mining site to its new role between 2006 and 2010, and the opening of the AVLR passenger service in August 2010. Featuring an introduction from Anthony Coulls, Senior Curator at the NRM, it includes several volunteer stories, telling how their involvement with the railway came about. The book covers the tracklaying period, buildings, major events such as the Track to the Trenches commemorations, visiting locomotives, visits by locomotives to other railways both within the UK and elsewhere. A section covers development of the field railway, and finally looking ahead to the extension of the line to extend it to around 3/4 of a mile.

This 21cm x 21cm soft cover booklet has 108 pages including the cover, and is in full colour throughout. Includes over 280 colour photographs of locomotives, people, and events.
