AGM weekend at Apedale, when the membership hold the Trustees to account and a general review of the “State of the Nation”. All passed off with no major issues, and some very positive and useful contributions. Before the meeting, members continued the work to reinstate the railway following the insertion of the Great Drain under the trackbed. There’s still a little work to do, but we are now OK to start running in this area. We also admired the museum building steadily rising out of the ground.
After the meeting, a visit was arrange to the Ashton Packet Boat company to see this very characterful railway in the suburbs of Manchester. MRT members got the opportunity to try their operating skills on a very different railway. Many thanks to Adam and the team at Ashton for allowing the visit.
