Sadly, we had to cancel all of our Santa Special trains due to the pandemic. This left us with a rather large pile of presents – mainly wrapped chocolate selection boxes. We have chosen to donate these to others in the community less fortunate; we have split the donation between the Salvation Army and the Stoke on Trent foodbank. We hope that these still bring a little Christmas cheer, albeit not perhaps in the way we planned.
As the COVID regulations have not changed for our area, we will be operating steam trains on Sunday 27th December. We will be running our COVID-secure train service, with socially distanced seating in our open-sided coaches. Trains will run from 1130 to 1600. Please wrap up warm – this is very much an outdoor trip! Also, we cannot offer the traditional mince pie – but please feel free to bring your own mince pies. We do not charge corkage. One other thing to note – our colleagues at the Heritage Centre are not able to open currently, so unfortunately there will be no public toilets available.
