This locomotive was delivered from Motor Rail’s works on 17 August 1965 to the Midhurst Whites brickworks in West Sussex, where it worked alongside no.60 on the 30 inch gauge railways at that location. As with no.60, the locomotive was configured to work in a “low height” environment with the seat and controls rotated through 180 degrees compared to the standard design.
After the works railways closed, no.75 was acquired by Mr David Jeffcoat, who moved it to his private garden railway at Haslemere between May and July of 1993. He regauged the loco to its current 24 inch. Sadly, Mr Jeffcoat died during 2020, and his widow donated the locomotive and much of the railway equipment to the Moseley Railway Trust. The locomotive arrived at Apedale on 16 November 2020.
