This petrol locomotive was built by the Rhiwbach Quarry Company for use at their quarry near Blaenau Ffestiniog, North Wales. It was built by the quarrymen with an Austin 7 Motor Car and a Howard skip wagon chassis. Presumably, they didn’t like using horses or pushing wagons around themselves!
With no photographs or drawings to go from the owner is having to use some careful detective work to find where parts went, plus more detective work to find parts! It arrived on site on 21/3/2010 as nothing more than a bare set of frames. Restoration then started in 2016 to the state seen today. Quite a change!
