It is possible that this loco was built initially for stock, as the loco does not seem to have had a home from being built in 1964 until delivered to Spondon Power Station, near Derby in 1968. It worked on a line that disposed of boiler ash. In 1979 it (and at least one other Spondon loco) were sold to Wm Bush, a machinery dealer at Alfreton. From here it moved via Alan Keef Ltd (on 7/7/1980) to John Crosskey’s Surrey Light Railway. John Crosskey sold the loco back to Alan Keef Ltd, and it moved back to the yard near Ross on Wye in June 2000. It moved to the Cadeby Light Railway 16/8/2003 and to Apedale on 22/4/2006. The power system is a 36 volt lead/acid battery driving a single electric motor driving both wheel-sets via cardan shaft and wormboxes.
