The Apedale Valley Light Railway is now working towards the day when we can welcome visitors to the site again. We are planning that day to be Saturday 1st August. Please keep an eye on this website or on the Facebook page for details of exactly which days we will operate. Inevitably, there will be some differences compared to the Before Times, but hopefully things will be fairly relaxed, informal and enjoyable.
A key ingredient in this has been a substantial platform extension, which allows a lot more flexibility in train berthing. This has been recently completed, and has now been tested. This was, in fact, the first time in 2020, that the passenger train has been formed-up and run into the station, and then down the mainline.
We can’t we wait to see our visitors, regulars and newbies, again!
