A quick look at a couple of projects from last weekend. As a site enhancement, a water supply is being provided to the Aurora North building. The primary objective is to make life easier when we have the tea stall in there during Gala weekends – removing the need to fetch and carry water. However, doubtless it will come in handy for many other water-related purposes.
Meanwhile, down at the workshops, Ruston 191658 was receiving attention. This loco has not been featured much here and it’s a pretty big project as the loco can only be described as “a bit poorly”. However, steady progress is being made. The current key milestone is to release the gearbox and the wheelsets from the frames. We couldn’t find the big spanner, so the owner had to make do with the one from the watch mending kit.
